Home made popcorn:

take a nonstick pan and place it on the stove, putting a tablespoon of oil inside. When the oil is hot, add two or three tablespoons of corn, mix in the seeds and cook with the lid on. Continue cooking over medium heat. When the popping is finished, turn off the stove and pour the resulting product into a bowl. At this point, salt or sweeten the popcorn to your liking.

microwave popcorn:

Open the bag and make sure it has no holes or breaks. Place the bag in the center of the oven and place the indicated side up. Cook on full power for 2-4 minutes, depending on microwave wattage. The envelope comes out very hot! To open it, carefully pull the top ends diagonally.

Popcorn belonging to the Biofactor line is organic, while popcorn belonging to the Nature line is conventional.

Be careful, however!

Nature popcorn, however, is free of pesticide residues, that is, with maximum allowable pesticide residues less than or equal to 0.01 mg/Kg, suitable for a vegan diet, and GMO-free.

Popcorn should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from sources of light and heat

Absolutely.

Biofactor respects everyone’s health; in fact, each product is suitable for a vegan or gluten-free diet.

Our commitment to sustainability is ensured through our organic farming method and Biosuisse, which includes a rotation plan that respects soil fertility and also the use of green manure.

Biosuisse certification also guarantees biodiversity, which we respect by having bees, melliferous flowers and natural oases to preserve flora and fauna.

Trial fields:

We initially carry out “trial fields” where multiple variety lines provided by seed companies are tested; then, based on the results, we are able to understand which variety is best suited to carry out extensive cultivation. It is important to continuously test current and new varieties to promote product quality improvement.

Selection

We ensure the exclusive use of “natural” organic fertilization processes, with products allowed by organic farming. We ensure the use of equipment that allows the eradication of weeds while respecting the very canons of organic farming and looking for crops that do not present problems related to phytopathologies, while, in the event that attacks on crops by insects or other pests occur, these are managed and treated with systems congruous and appropriate for organic farming.

Techniques

We make the most traditional manual techniques, rich in the peasant history of our lands, coexist with the most sophisticated mechanical procedures and technologically advanced irrigation systems. With regard to corn, we use specific combines exclusively for this crop to ensure a gluten-free product without contamination. Our machines are set with a special setting in order to avoid seed breakage, which could cause problems related to aflatoxins.

Our silo storage facility preserves products optimally through constant humidity and temperature control. For beans and peanuts we also place the same care and attention using specific machinery that preserves to maintain the product without damaging or altering it.

Processing:

The products are processed through a fully automatic process, which begins with a first stage that allows most of the impurities to be removed through specific machinery. This is followed by calibrating the product, then continues by operating a second careful selection, passing the popcorn through a new generation optical sorter to ensure the highest quality of the finished product before packaging.

The latter can be done in various formats depending on the specific needs of customers.

Yes. Popcorn is a whole grain cereal, a 100 percent natural source of fiber.

Coconut oil has many benefits, which is why we use it when we cook our bags of popcorn.

Coconut oil:

  • Is cholesterol-free,
  • acts as a natural preservative to maintain the freshness of popped corn,
  • it imparts a tasty, natural flavor.

However, like all oils, it is still a fat and should be used in moderation, which is why our recipes are balanced.

Absolutely not!
